Daily Newspapers to Run Girls & Sports in the Sports Section
01.17.05 – The Tucson Citizen, The Keene (NH) Sentinel and The Columbia (MO) Daily Tribune, will all debut Girls & Sports in their sports sections beginning January 17th, 2005.

Girls & Sports offers flexibility to newspaper editors never-before-seen in a comic strip. The dating and sports-themed strip can be run in any newspaper's comics, sports or entertainment sections, and several major daily papers are starting to take notice.

Girls & Sports follows the exploits of Bradley (the boyfriend with a “wandering eye”), his best friend Marshall (the wannabe player ultimately looking for the right girl), his girlfriend JoAnn (independent-minded yet always seeking more attention), Harris (the clever and mysterious sidekick) and a cast of ancillary characters including the Dream Woman, the Bouncer, the Personal Trainer and many more.

Girls & Sports originated in college newspapers nationwide, appearing regularly in over 75 college and university papers around the country. With its biting commentary on both the dating scene and sports world, Girls & Sports is most widely read comic strip on college campuses. Thousands of enthusiastic fan emails and very high renewal rates further emphasize the passion with which college students have endorsed Girls & Sports.

Driven by demand from graduating college students wanting to read the strip outside of their former college newspapers, Girls & Sports was marketed to mainstream papers in October of 2004. In just a few short months, Girls & Sports now appears in over 100 mainstream publications nationwide including, The New York Daily News and The Syracuse Post-Standard. Girls & Sports has even become a hit in Stars and Stripes, the newspaper distributed to the U.S. military worldwide, because of the strip's strong appeal to young people.
